High Altitude Martial Arts offers classes for men, women, and children. High Altitude teaches a variety of classes geared for people who want to learn Self-Defense, want to learn to fight, want to get in shape, and most importantly, want to have fun. High Altitude houses training for world champions in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighting, Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and Wrestling, although the majority of its members are beginners. High Altitude classes teach the most effective techniques in a safe and fun environment. Students of all ages are welcome at High Altitude, from 5 to 105 years old. High Altitude also has special rates for families and has the most affordable prices in Colorado.

There will now be a take down class on Saturdays from 11-12. The class will be taught by Jared Mercado, Division 1 wrestler from Northwestern Univ. We are happy to have somebody with his experience in the High Altitude family.
In his first MMA fight Jason Lee defeated Sebastian White by KO at 2:24 minutes of round 1.
Nate will face Demian Maia in UFC 102. It will be held at the Rose Center in Portland, Oregan on August 29th, 2009. His opponent, Demian Maia, has won all 5 of his UFC fights by submission, claiming submission of the night 4 of those 5 times. However, Nate is very well versed in submissions himself and is an all around great fighter, hence the name, Nate the Great Marquardt. It should be a great fight!
In the 3rd Colorado State Jiu Jitsu Grappling Tournament High Altitudes children’s team placed within the top 3 teams again. Overall our kids placed 3rd. Congratulations to all. Calvin Nguyen placed 1st in no gi beginners fly weight and gi white fly weight, Jacob Paulson placed 1st in no gi beg. feather weight and 2nd in gi yellow belt feather weight. Katie Nguyen placed 3rd in no gi beg. feather weight and 1st in gi white belt feather weight. Alice Amaya placed 2nd in no gi beg. welter weight and gi white belt light weight. Caleb Paulson placed 1st in no gi beg. welter weight. Congratulations also goes out to all other competitors. Jenner Paulson placed 2nd in teen no gi beg. heavy weight. Rick Hale placed 2nd in men’s gi white light weight and 3rd in men’s no gi novice light weight. Luis La’O placed 2nd in men’s no gi intermediate light weight. Patrick Garland placed 1st in men’s no gi novice super heavey weight. Gabby Cepeda placed 2nd in women’s no gi novice middle weight.
Saturday June, 27th High Altitude will be celebrating our 3rd year at this location. There will be food, fun, and prizes! There will also be a blue belt and a purple belt roll-off. Make sure to bring the family and join us for some fun. Festivities will begin around Noon.
